Dr. Vazquez is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon with Certified Sub Specialization in Sports Medicine. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts & Sciences in Neurobiology and Behavior from Cornell University. He subsequently received his medical degree from the world-renowned Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 2003.
In addition to a busy clinical practice, Dr. Vazquez serves as the head team physician for Stevens Institute of Technology, Felician University, and St. Thomas Aquinas College as well as several high schools including Woodridge and Pascack Hills. He also serves as a ring side doctor for USA boxing and Golden Gloves. He is on the Board of the New Jersey Orthopedics Society and Hackensack University Wellness Center.

He has particular proficiency in advanced arthroscopic procedures including the shoulder, elbow, hip and knee. In addition to fellowship training in orthopedic sports medicine, he also has specific subspecialization in shoulder and elbow surgery including trauma, ligament reconstruction, and arthroplasty including revision. He also has training in the latest techniques of hip preservation using arthroscopic techniques such as labral repair and impingement correction surgery.

Advanced Training
Dr. Vazquez completed his orthopedic surgery residency at New York University/Hospital for Joint Diseases from June 2003 to June 2008. He subsequently received sub speciality training in Sports Medicine and Shoulder & Elbow Surgery as a Fellow at the University of Southern California studying under Dr. James Tibone and Dr. John Itamura. He also received specialized training in hip arthroscopy under Jason Snibbe, MD. As an assistant team physician for the University of Southern California, he worked with athletes from football to tennis and golf addressing their unique needs and expectations. He is the author of numerous research studies and manuscripts detailing the treatment of a variety of musculoskeletal injuries and is board certified in orthopedics surgery and orthopedic sports medicine.
Dr. Vazquez has privileges at Hackensack University Medical Center, Hudson Crossing Surgical Center, HackensackUMC at Pascack Valley, New Bridge Medical Center and HackensackUMC at Mountainside where he serves as the Chief of Orthopedics.
